Our Projects

Our aim at The Learning Shift is to undertake several different innovative and child-centric projects to help us fulfil our mission of providing free high quality educational content to children of the Caribbean region.

Our first project - mylearningshift.com

Mission

To provide primary school aged children in the English speaking Caribbean with free online teaching and learning tools which will help them gain a better understanding of the core concepts taught at school.

mylearningshift.com seeks to build each child’s confidence in their learning abilities in a fun and interactive way. The first phase of the project will focus on Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies.

At mylearningshift.com, learning is on demand, on repeat, to your beat.   This means that students can review a lesson once, 10 times, 100 times with different examples – whatever it takes for them to master it, wherever and whenever it’s convenient.

We believe all children should have equal access to free quality educational content that covers the entire primary school curriculum. In this way, along with reviewing what they are currently learning in school, if an 8 year old did not understand something they were taught when they were 6 years old, they can go back and try again.

On mylearningshift.com, along with the video tutorial that they will follow, students can access:

·         A “You Should Know” section – summarizes key points of the lesson

·        Quick End of Lesson quiz to see how much they retained

·        Practice Exercises

·         Section and Unit Quizzes - with worked solutions or explanations provided for every question

·         Mental tests

We will update the content regularly to ensure it stays relevant and reflects the core concepts being taught in the region’s classrooms.
